About the Features

Joann Deiudicibus teaches writing in New York’s Hudson Valley. Her poems and essays about poetry appear in WaterWrites; A Slant of Light; & Reflecting Pool (Codhill Press), The Haibun Journal, Comstock Review, Calling All Poets Anthologies, Contemporary Haibun Online, Drifting Sands, Typishly, Lightwood, Stone Poetry Quarterly, as well as Affective Disorder and the Writing Life (Palgrave Macmillan). Thomas Festa is a professor of English at the State University of New York, New Paltz, where he has been teaching for the past twenty years. He is the author of a poetry chapbook, Earthen (Finishing Line Press, 2023) and a study of John Milton’s poetry, The End of Learning (Routledge, 2006). Lately, he has been teaching long poems from the European tradition and writing short ones after the Japanese. His own poems long and short have appeared in Bennington Review, Blithe Spirit, The Briar Cliff Review, Connecticut River Review, Contemporary Haibun Online, The Haibun Journal, Modern Haiku, Presence, and elsewhere. His haibun have received a nomination for the Pushcart Prize and have been longlisted twice for the Touchstone Award.

Julian Matthews is a writer of poetry, short stories and essays. He is published in The American Journal of Poetry, Borderless Journal, Beltway Poetry Quarterly, The New Verse News, Autumn Sky Poetry Daily, Lothlorien Poetry Journal, Live Encounters, among others.
