This was certainly the shortest open mic Dan has been to, perhaps ever, but, “shortest doesn’t mean it’s not fun…”
This was the last in the series featuring individual local writers, with the final subject being “el presidente” himself, Thom Francis.
The Troy Poetry Mission, hosted by R.M. Engelhardt and James Duncan, returned at their new home and Dan Wilcox was there to take notes.
“The Tin Angel” had been on Dan’s my mind since Paul Pines died in late June, and he had forgotten he had signed his copy.
Tonight, Thom Francis was the host of a new poetry/spoken word series at The Low Beat on the 1st & 3rd Tuesdays, “what’s old is new again”.
Third Thursday in the Summer — had to crank up the sound system a bit because the door was open letting in the sounds of The Street.
In spite of Dan’s recent days on the beach, he was glad to be back among the poets of Albany and to settle in for food, beer and words.
