On Wednesday, December 14, at 7 p.m. Arthur’s 2nd Wednesday Poetry Open-Mic will feature a “Round-Robin Poetry Share.” We will circle our chairs and make the rounds reading our poems one at a time.
On Wednesday, December 7, Caffè Lena will present poetry readings by Judith Prest and Mike Jurkovic at Ndakinna Education Center.
Writers in the Mountains (WIM) will celebrate National Novel Writing Month, or NaNoWriMo for short, to support novelists and encourage them to finish their works. Events include weekly write-ins and an open mic.
Writers in the Mountains will present “Toward a Radical Poetics” with Lissa Kiernan, November 5 to December 10. The class will be held Saturdays, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Poetry Barn.
Poet Karen Schoemer will read from her work at the Social Justice Center, 33 Central Avenue, Albany, on Thursday, November 17, at 7:30 p.m.
On Saturday, November 12, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Roeliff Jansen Community Library will host “The ABCs of Writing Page-Turning Fiction.” The writers’ workshop will be taught by author, teacher and scholar Joanne Dobson.
The next “Poetry Open-Mic & Featured Poet” at Arthur’s Market & Cafe will be Wednesday, November 9. The featured poet will be Melody Davis.
On Wednesday, November 2, Caffè Lena will present poetry readings by Georgia Popoff and Susan Oringel at Ndakinna Education Center.
