The 2019 Word Fest stopped at the Hudson River Coffee House with featured poets Danielle Pouliot, L-Majesty, Karen Fabiane, & Avery Stempel.
While the Readings Against the End of the World have ended the 2019 Word Fest continued with the 2nd Sunday @ 2 Open Mic at The Arts Center.
Dan Wilcox spent a lot of time at the 2019 Word Fest Readings Against the End of the World open mic and took notes.
It was a busy week for poetry, as many are in Albany, but Dan was able to make to The Low Beat for Brass Tacks with Ian Macks featured.
Dan Wilcox not only hosted the 14th Anniversary edition of Poets Speak Loud at McGeary’s, he also took notes on who stepped up to the mic.
Dan Wilcox was at the 10th edition of the Brass Tacks poetry and spoken word open mic at The Low Beat on December 4 and took some notes.
The old folks commandeered the center cluster of tables while others, including some new faces were spread about the rest of the room.
This was certainly the shortest open mic Dan has been to, perhaps ever, but, “shortest doesn’t mean it’s not fun…”
This was the last in the series featuring individual local writers, with the final subject being “el presidente” himself, Thom Francis.
The Troy Poetry Mission, hosted by R.M. Engelhardt and James Duncan, returned at their new home and Dan Wilcox was there to take notes.
“The Tin Angel” had been on Dan’s my mind since Paul Pines died in late June, and he had forgotten he had signed his copy.
Sarah Giragosian will be the featured reader at the Third Thursday Poetry Night at the Social Justice Center Thursday, August 16, 2018.
