Anne Gorrick to Read at Poetry on the Loose

The next program in the the Poetry on the Loose Reading/Performance Series will feature Anne Gorrick.  The event will be held at 23 White Oak Drive, Sugar Loaf at the Seligmann Estate at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 2.  Following the feature, others are welcome to read original work.  Admission is free.

Anne GorrickAnne Gorrick. a poet and visual artist, is the author of I-Formation (Book 2) (Shearsman, 2012), I-Formation (Book 1) (Shearsman, 2010), and Kyotologic (Shearsman, 2008).  Her work has appeared or is forthcoming in American Letters and Commentary, Dislocate, Fence, Goodfoot, Gutcult, Hunger, The Seneca Review, The Cortland Review, Sulfur and word for/word.   She collaborated with artist Cynthia Winika to produce a limited edition artists’ book, “Swans, the ice,” she said, funded by the Women’s Studio Workshop in Rosendale, NY and the New York Foundation for the Arts.

She curates the Cadmium Text reading series, which focuses on innovative writing from in and around New York’s Hudson Valley and produces the electronic poetry journal Peep/Show with poet Lynn Behrendt.  Gorrick describes this last as “a taxonomic exercise in textual and visual seriality.”

Prior to the reading, the Northeast Poetry Center’s College of Poetry will offer a free workshop conducted by Kirpal Gordon in the same space from 1:00 until 3:00..
