A new year and a new opportunity to get over to Voorheesville for the Sunday Four Poetry Open Mic. This is one of the great poetry open mics in the area with wonderful, welcoming hosts combined with some awesome poets sharing their work.
Here is what is coming up next week, January 27 at the event from hosts Dennis Sullivan, Mike Burke, and Edie Abrams:
On Sunday January 27th Eve. R. Yone will be the featured poet for the day at Sunday Four at Old Songs. Come hear this great collective voice! 3 PM.
All open-mic readers can present three short poems, two medium, or one semi-long but no Paterson-length works. We suggest a three-dollar donation, more if you can and wish to.
Afterwards we always repair for food and good cheer to the POETS’ CORNER at Smith’s Tavern a dozen houses or so away from our space. This is an integral part of the event—good cheer and conviviality. Everybody is welcome to join in the celebration
of what health we have as the new year progresses.
The Poet of the Month in the POETS’ CORNER is Howard Kogan, his intriguing “Pencils’ the featured poem.
Old Songs Community Arts Center is located at 37 South Main Street, Voorheesville, NY 12186.
