The Dusk Court Book Club: Jane Eyre
The Dusk Court Book Club
The Dusk Court Book Club will focus on the darker side of literature. We’ll be reading a mixture of magic & fantasy, gothic vibes, and there may even be occasional spice. Court will be held by Briar on the fourth Thursday each month – join us for provisions, debates, and new friendships. Magical attire is certainly optional, though always encouraged. It will be lovely to meet you.
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë
A novel of intense power and intrigue, Jane Eyre has dazzled generations of readers with its depiction of a woman’s quest for freedom. Having grown up an orphan in the home of her cruel aunt and at a harsh charity school, Jane Eyre becomes an independent and spirited survivor-qualities that serve her well as governess at Thornfield Hall. But when she finds love with her sardonic employer, Rochester, the discovery of his terrible secret forces her to make a choice. Should she stay with him whatever the consequences or follow her convictions, even if it means leaving her beloved?
Your $30 ticket includes a hardcover copy of the book, a beautiful Jane Eyre wooden bookmark, and a 10% discount on all food and beverages the evening of the event.
Please note: We will be discussing this book at the meeting, so please pick up (and read) your copy before the group meets.
