The Hudson Valley Writers Guild has announced the winners of its 2014 Non-Fiction Essay Writing Contest. The winners were chosen from 75 essays submitted from writers throughout New York State.

3) new entry to add under “Poetry”:
Albany Poets’ Workshop: an every-other-week workshop in existence since 2000, for experienced poets who seek strong feedback and wish to participate in a creative give and take. Applicants will be asked to submit a sample of their work. Workshop usually meets at a downtown Albany location on Tuesday evenings from 7-9 p.m but the day of the week could be changed.
