Until The Words Came, a new collaborative collection of poems by Guy Reed and Cheryl A. Rice, has just been published by Post Traumatic Press of Woodstock, NY.
The contents evolved from a reading given by Reed and Rice at Teresa Costa’s WOMPS at Kingston, NY’s Artbar in mid-2018. Instead of the usual double feature, the two longtime friends and writers decided to create a single-themed feature based on the many poems both had about poets they admired and poetry events they’d attended.
The chapbook touches on such diverse subjects as Anne Sexton, Paul Newman, shoveling snow, and Easter Sunday.
Poet Janet Hamill said, “Until The Words Came is a soft duel between equally matched players.” Will Nixon added that, “Cheryl and Guy have written a chapbook for everyone’s ears.”
Guy Reed, born in Minnesota, has written poems for feature films, including I Dream Too Much, as well as co-authoring the screenplay for How The World Looks Now. He is the author of The Effort To Hold Light (Finishing Line Press). Reed lives with his family in the Catskills.
Cheryl A Rice is the founder/host of the now-defunct “Sylvia Plath Bake-Off,” and the 2017 winner of the Stephen DiBiase Poetry Contest. Her RANDOM WRITING workshops can be found at odd hours across upstate New York. Born on Long Island, Rice has made the Hudson Valley her home for nearly forty years.
Until The Words Came is available directly from Post Traumatic Press at http://www.posttraumaticpress.com (ask for it by name!), or by contacting Rice at cheryl.a.rice.02@gmail.com. The chapbook is $12.00.
