Join poets and writers from all over the area on Wednesday, January 9 for the finale poetry event at Arthur’s Market in Schenectady. The building has sold, and in February the poetry series will move to a brand new venue. Stay tuned for the announcement!
January 9 is a night to celebrate the good times and many wonderful poets we’ve enjoyed over the past two and a half years at Arthur’s. In addition to the usual lively open mic, there will be a special presentation organized by Colleen Wygal, an energetic poet and teacher who offers workshops at CREATE community studios and elsewhere. Colleen’s students from her All Write Together class will share short pieces on the theme of balance. These fascinating works-in-process explore the precarious personal balance between the 8th deadly sin and the 8th virtue.
The host for the evening will be poet extraordinaire Alan Catlin, author of so many books we’ve lost count.
Sign-ups for the open mic begin at 7:00; readings begin at 7:30. Beverages & food available on the premises. Arthur’s Market & Historic Cafe, 35 N.Ferry Street, Schenectady, NY 12305.
