Self-Comparison

self-comparison is like the snow leopard
destined to catch its prey
it’ll devour you

no loud roar
it stalks you
preys on you

aware that you’re vulnerable
it attacks
it’ll bring you falling

down the cliff
it’ll take your happiness
if you let it

Perfection

I will not let perfection
of others
distort who I am

second-guessing my abilities
because I am far from perfect
questioning if I have

what it takes to unravel
the moments, the quest,
the dance that

slowly reminds me
that what is hidden
on the inside

is far grander than
perfection on
the outside

Roots

tree roots bulging from
the earth
twisted and shooting

out in all directions
slowing gazing up the tree
reminds me that life is

flawed but beauty
is everywhere
everywhere
