Call for Submissions: Slipstream, Magical Realism, & General Submissions

Whether it’s slipstream, magical realism, cross-genre, fantasy, science fiction, or a regular fairy tale, Sequestrum wants to read it.
Writing

Sequestrum is starting 2021 with a call for your best imaginative writing! Whether it’s slipstream, magical realism, cross-genre, fantasy, science fiction, or a regular fairy tale, they want to read it.

Slipstream crosses conventional genre boundaries between science fiction, fantasy, and literary fiction. It’s one of our favorite genres, but we’re not stopping there. We’re open to magical realism, cross-genre, urban/high/low fantasy, hard/soft sci-fi, experimental, absurdist, fabulist, weird, surreal, or a regular fairy tale. In short, we want literary-quality writing with a healthy serving of imagination. Fiction, nonfiction, poetry, or some combination thereof. Make the familiar strange and the strange familiar. Muddy the line between the everyday and the fantastic. We want to lose track of where our world ends and the next begins. Wow us. Thrill us. We’re ready to believe. Deadline 4/15/21.
