Reading Works is a nonprofit, community-based literacy program that provides free tutoring to teens and adults in reading, writing and speaking English.

2nd Annual Short Short Story_FlyerpngReading Works is a nonprofit, community-based literacy program that provides free tutoring to teens and adults in reading, writing and speaking English. We are located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The Contest is a fund raiser to support our programs.

The challenge is to write a story using no more than 100 words that relates in some way to one of these topics:

  • water
  • 1940s
  • bowling
  • ants.

We are offering seven cash prizes:

  • Best of Contest ($100)
  • Best of Category ($50)
  • Best Youth Story (author is 14 or younger) ($50)
  • People’s Choice ($50).

Submission dates are from October 1, 2020, to January 15, 2021. The entry fee is $10 per story, paid on our website: www.reading-works.org.
