[In keeping with COVID recommendations, these workshops and reading at Carol Durant’s Outliers Poetry Brunch, will be a hybrid format: in person and ZOOM platform. RSVP is REQUIRED to ensure 1. proper COVID spacing, 2. to ensure the proper amount of writing supplies, handouts etc.]
Using the AWA workshop method, AWA facilitator, Suzanne S. Rancourt, will guide participants in creating new work, hone the writers editing skills, apply the new skills to works in progress that will lead to the compilation of an Anthology of the workshop participants. Veterans, and/or families of, are welcome regardless of what era they served, skill level, or genre of choice. The AWA method can be applied to all art making modalities. We are requesting that people attend both workshops as they build on each other. No one is made to read their work publicly. Support as audience is encouraged.

Northwestern UP, received the Native Writers’ Circle of the Americas First Book Award, and murmurs at the gate, Unsolicited Press,
2019. A 3rd book, Old Stones, New Roads, is under contract, and her 4th, Songs of Archilochus, seeks a press. She is a USMC and
Army Veteran who holds an MS in psychology – SUNY, Albany and an MFA in writing – VCFA. Suzanne is widely published.
