Poet Bruce Weber will read from his work at the Social Justice Center, 33 Central Ave., Albany on Thursday, March 19, 2020 at 7:30PM. Bruce Weber is the author of six published books of poetry including the just published There Are Too Many Words In My House from Rogue Scholars Press. Bruce’s work has appeared in numerous magazines, and in several anthologies, and he has performed regularly in the tri-state area, including with his former performance group, “Bruce Weber’s No Chance Ensemble,” which produced the CD Let’s Dine Like Jack Johnson Tonight. On January 1st, 2020 he produced in Kingston the six hour event “Brain Storms: The Hudson Valley New Year’s Day Spoken Word/Performance Extravaganza.”
A reading by a local or regional poet is held each Third Thursday at the Social Justice Center. The event includes an open mic for audience members to read. Sign-up starts at 7:00PM, with the reading beginning at 7:30. The host of the readings is Albany poet and photographer Dan Wilcox. The suggested donation is $3.00, which helps support this and other poetry programs of the Poetry Motel Foundation, and the work of the Social Justice Center.
