Poetry and spoken word continue in Schenectady on Wednesday, March 13 with the launch of a new poetry venue.
The second Wednesday open mic and featured reader series was formerly held at Arthur’s Market before it’s new owners decided to close down and refocus. But this series will not be held down and has found a new home at C.R.E.A.T.E. Community Studios, a center for expressive arts on 137 State Street.
In addition to the open mic, the evening will feature presentations by the “Wednesday Writers,” an eclectic group from Schenectady’s library workshops. Signups for the open mic start at 7:00, readings start at 7:30. Jackie Craven will host and admission is free.
Parking is on State Street, Liberty Street, and in the parking lot behind the building by the garages.
