Celebrating 20 years as the Hudson Valley’s longest running poetry performance series, Calling All Poets Series invites one and all to the CAPS@20 Marathon Celebration, Saturday, March 16, 1:00 -11:00 p.m. at Roost Studios & Art Gallery, 69 Main Street, New Paltz.
For 20 years CAPS has nurtured novice and veteran poetic voices from the Hudson Valley, NYC, Albany, and the tri-state area. The dynamic energy discovered by poets and patrons who attend our monthly free speech forums has allowed CAPS to venture creatively out into the community and beyond. Our connections to SUNY New Paltz have strengthened. Jazzoetry, a vibrant fusion of jazz and poetry is performed periodically throughout the Valley. We have Authors Night in Ellenville. #poemsprosedialogue at the Towne Crier in Beacon. We’ve collaborated with Roost Studios for ARToetry: The Ekphrasis Exhibit. CAPS now live streams all of our events on Facebook which has taken the many voices of Calling All Poets out to the world. Our website, www.callingallpoets.net is all things poetry in the Hudson Valley! We have Poet Laureates, Pushcart winners, and other award winners, publishers and authors as members and supporters.
