The Vischer Ferry General Store (357 Riverview Road, Rexford, NY) presents an evening of poetry hosted by Rick Mincher on Thursday, March 21 at 7:00 p.m. Enjoy a cup of coffee and dessert in the warm, inviting atmosphere of this favorite gathering place.
Jessica Hornik, a resident of Alplaus, will read poems from her recent book A Door on the River. Hornik’s poems have appeared in the Atlantic, Poetry magazine, the Yale Review, and many other national publications. Her work was recently featured as Poem of the Week by the (London) Times Literary Supplement.
Libuse “Liba” Burjetka, who died in 2018, was a longtime resident of Clifton Park. Her poetry was recognized in her native Czechoslovakia as well as in translation. Mincher will recite her poems, and her husband, Dr. Miro Burjetka, will discuss her life and work.
Hornik will sign books following the event. Proceeds from the sale of Burjetka’s books will benefit Hospice.
