The Albany Poets Presents series of poetry, spoken word, and conversation continues on Wednesday, October 17 at Restaurant Navona (289 New Scotland Avenue, Albany) with local poet, performer, and Albany Poets president Thom Francis.
Albany Poets Presents is a series of readings that put a spin on the typical poetry event in the local literary community by highlighting one poet with an interview and Q&A session following the featured performance. For this installment of Albany Poets Presents, the tables will be turned as Mary Panza takes over as host and Thom will be taking questions from the audience.
Thom Francis has been organizing, promoting, and hosting open mics and poetry / spoken word events in Albany such as Brass Tacks, Nitty Gritty Slam, School of Night, Albany Poets Presents…, and the Albany Word Fest for almost 20 years. Thom has put together three chapbooks and has been published in Chronogram and Up The River. He has been featured at many of the upstate poetry and spoken word events from Saratoga to Woodstock as well as community events such as LarkFest, Art on Lark, and 1st Friday.
Albany Poets Presents will be recorded live to be distributed through the Albany Poets website and other outlets.
