Albany Poets kicks off a new season of poetry, spoken word, and conversation on Wednesday, February 21 at Restaurant Navona (289 New Scotland Avenue, Albany) with local poet, performer, and host Carol Graser.
“Albany Poets Presents” is a series of readings that puts a spin on the typical poetry event in the local literary community by highlighting one poet with an interview and Q&A session following the featured performance.
Host Thom Francis says, “Carol is one of the great literary advocates and organizers in the area. She has maintained one of the longest running local poetry open mics at Caffe Lena in Saratoga. She continues to bring in fresh features and fill the room every month. And on top of that, Carol still has time to write and publish her own work.”
Carol Graser hosts a poetry reading series at Saratoga Spring’s legendary Caffe Lena on the first Wednesday of every month and has performed her work at various events and venues around NYS. Her work has been published in many literary journals, recently in Devilfish Review, Punch Drunk Press, Trailer Park Quarterly, and Minute Magazine. She is the author of the poetry collection, The Wild Twist of Their Stems (Foothills Publishing 2007).
“Albany Poets Presents” will be recorded live to be distributed through the Albany Poets website and other outlets.
