So much going on in the local poetry and spoken word community. Here is a look at all of the poetry events, readings, slams, and workshops coming up this week in the region.

Sunday, April 9

2:00pm – 2nd Sunday @ 2 – Poetry + Prose
The Arts Center of The Capital Region, 265 River Street, Troy, NY
A monthly open mic for writers of poetry and prose on the 2nd Sunday of each month at The Arts Center of The Capital Region with your hosts Nancy Klepsch and Dan Wilcox.

2:00pm – National Poetry Month Open Mic
William K. Sanford Town Library, 629 Albany Shaker Road, Loudonville, NY
The William K. Sanford (Town of Colonie) Library will be hosting a Poetry Open Mic to celebrate National Poetry Month. Interested parties should email Librarian, Rebekah Jarvis-Girtler at bekah@colonielibrary.org to submit their name and contact information.

A weekly open mic for music, performance, and poetry on the incredible Club Helsinki stage.

7:00pm – Emack and Bolio’s Open Mic Night
Emack & Bolio’s, Delaware Ave., Albany, NY
A weekly open mic for music and poetry.

7:00pm – Rensselaerville Library Poetry Group
Rensselaerville Library, 1459 County Route 351, Rensselaerville, NY
Bring your poem and receive feedback from fellow poets, or just share your words at the Rensselaerville Library Poetry Group on the Second and Fourth Tuesdays of each month.

8:00pm – Northampton Poetry Open Mic
World War II Club, 50 Conz St., Northampton, MA
Northampton’s only weekly open mic poetry night offers some of the best, most creative voices in the county. Every Tuesday night at 8:00pm.

 

Wednesday, April 12

7:00pm – An Evening of Poetry and Prose

An evening of Poetry and Prose, hosted by Harvey Havel and sponsored by the American Initiative for Jewish-Muslim Love and Peace featuring Ejaz Hussain, Jay Deitcher, Alaa Muhiddin, Yasin Aref, and Joe Krausman.

7:00pm – Arthur’s Market Open Mic

Monthly poetry open mic in Schenectady’s historic Stockade District with a featured reader, hosted by Catherine Norr, Jackie Craven, and friends.

Weekly open mic for musicians and writers.

7:30 PM – Word Of Mouth Poetry Series
Artbar Gallery, 674 Broadway, Kingston, NY
WOMPS: Word Of Mouth Poetry Series is a monthly poetry and spoken word open mic hosted by Teresa Costa. This month’s featured readers are Ariana D. Den Bleyker and Robert Milby.

8:00pm – Starving Artist Thursdays

8:00pm – Hudson Valley Writers’ Center Open Mic Night

Featured Poets + open mike for poets, fiction writers, essayists with rotating hosts. Located in the restored Philipse Manor railroad station, which is approx. 30 miles north of midtown Manhattan and 2.6 miles north of the Tappan Zee Bridge.

 

Saturday, March 18
