On Wednesday, February 1, the great Caffe Lena Poetry Open Mic series returns to the newly renovated Caffe Lena in Saratoga Springs with featured readers Carol H Jewell and Allison Paster-Torres along with an open mic for poetry and spoken word.
Allison Paster-Torres was raised by a pack of wild libraries. She knows how to spell at least ten words in the English language, and can easily be talked into doing almost anything if you tell her it will be an adventure, even if this is obviously a lie. She holds an MFA in creative writing and has appeared recently in Memoryhouse Magazine, Rat’s Ass Review, and Glass Journal.
Carol Jewell is a poet, teacher, musician, librarian, wife, mother, and grandmother. She has an AB in Russian Language and Literature and has three Masters degrees, in English, Library Science, and she just finished her MFS in Creative Writing from the College of Saint Rose
The Caffe Lena Poetry Open Mic, hosted by Carol Graser and sponsored by Northshire Bookstore, takes place on the first Wednesday of each and every month (usually) at Caffè Lena (47 Phila Street, Saratoga Springs). This event has a $5.00 admission charge. Sign up at 7:00, 7:30 readings start.
