On Wednesday, January 4, the great Caffe Lena Poetry Open Mic series returns to the newly renovated Caffe Lena in Saratoga Springs with featured reader Kathleen McCoy along with an open mic for poetry and spoken word.
Kathleen McCoy (aka P. Kathleen McCoy) was born in Rio Grande, Ohio minutes after her sister. She graduated from Georgetown College and then worked her way through graduate school with a bevy of jobs, completing her doctorate in modern literature and poetry at the University of Missouri-Columbia. After a stint as research analyst/writer in New York City, she began teaching for SUNY Adirondack, where she now chairs the English Division and teaches creative writing. Her debut poetry collection, Green and Burning, was released in 2016 from WordTech. She lives in upstate New York with her husband, daughter, and the cats who own them.
The Caffe Lena Poetry Open Mic, hosted by Carol Graser and sponsored by Northshire Bookstore, takes place on the first Wednesday of each and every month (usually) at Caffè Lena (47 Phila Street, Saratoga Springs). This event has a $5.00 admission charge. Sign up at 7:00, 7:30 readings start.
