woodstock_library_forum_web_smlThe Woodstock Library Forum, the Longest-Running Cultural and Public Affairs Forum in the Hudson Valley, is celebrating three decades of good talk this weekend with “On The Screen/On The Page”, an event featuring  videographer Kirsten Bates and poet Roberta Gould.

Kirsten Bates has been mixing images and sound since her first exhibition in New York. Her first documentary was shown nationally on public television. Her mesmerizing series of nature videos shot through the lens of a camera with a fixed focal length on a locked down tripod isolate movement so that they become still photos with movement and sound: “video poems.”

RobertaGouldRoberta Gould’s eleventh book of poems, To the Dogs, has just appeared. It presents twenty-five original photos with thirty nine poems. Some of her previous books are Not by Blood Alone and Pacing the Wind.

This event takes place on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 5:00 pm at the Woodstock Library, 5 Library Lane, Woodstock, NY 12498. For more information call 845-679-2213 or email [email protected].
