National Poetry Month is here and as we are getting ready for the 2016 Albany Word Fest, we have another great week of poetry and spoken word readings, open mics, events, and slams in the area to celebrate. Here’s a look at what is coming up in the area this week.

Season Five of Albany’s poetry slam continues with a special night highlighting the accomplishments of young people in movements and pushing radical social change. Daniel Summerhill, nationally ranked and recognized poet will be joined by the 518’s finest DJ TGIF. Open Mic and Slam sign-ups start at 7 PM.
