On Wednesday, April 6, the great Caffe Lena Poetry Open Mic series in Saratoga Springs continues with two featured readers, Lisa Wiley and Peter Marcus, followed by an open mic for poetry and spoken word.
Lisa Wiley is an English professor at Erie Community College, North Campus, and co-hosts the Just Buffalo Literary Cafe/Center for Inquiry Reading Series. Her books include Chamber Music, a chapbook of 21 villanelles (Finishing Line Press, 2103) and My Daughter Wears Her Evil Eye to School (The Writer’s Den, 2015).
Peter Marcus is the author of one collection of poetry, Dark Square, published in 2012 by Pleasure Boat Studio: A Literary Press, New York, NY. His poems have appeared in over 60 literary journals and magazines including: AGNI, Antioch Review, Boulevard, Brilliant Corners, Gastronomica, New England Review, Nimrod, Notre Dame Review, Ploughshares, Poetry, Quarterly West, Shenandoah Southern Review, Witness, and others. He has poems in two human rights anthologies, I Go To Ruined Places (2009) and Before There Is Nowhere To Stand (2012), both published by Lost Horse Press in Sandpoint, Idaho, and in an anthology of young poets, On the Verge, published by AGNI/Faber and Faber in 1993. He has been a recipient of a Connecticut Fellowship for the Arts grant (2005) and a resident fellow at Vermont Studio Center (2013).
The Caffe Lena Poetry Open Mic, hosted by Carol Graser and sponsored by Northshire Bookstore, takes place on the first Wednesday of each and every month at Caffè Lena (47 Phila Street, Saratoga Springs). This event has a $5.00 admission charge. Sign up at 7:00, 7:30 readings start.
