WordXWord is looking for young poets (13-19) for the first annual WXW teen poetry festival in May. WXW is hoping that you might know some poets and be able to help spread the word, or better yet be interested in organizing a team (poets can participate individually or as part of a team).
Loosely modeled after Louder Than A Bomb, the WXW teen poetry festival will celebrate youth voice by providing a platform for poets to share their stories.
The tentative schedule includes:
- Workshops
- Reception/Mixer
- Team Poetry Slam Competition
- Individual Poetry Slam Competition
- College Poetry Slam
- Open Mic Opportunities
Right now they are looking to gauge interest in order to determine our space and resource needs for planning purposes.
Interested poets and/or adult mentors may sign up at wXw365.org/teen to receive more information as it becomes available and to receive notification when registration becomes available (or email wyehle@wXw365.org for more information.
More information about the festival can be found at wXw365.org/teen.
