On Wednesday, August 5, the summer place to be will be the Caffe Lena Poetry Open Mic. Host Carol Graser will be welcoming featured poets Jackie Craven and Lori Desrosiers followed by an open mic for poetry and spoken word.
Jackie Craven writes poetry and fiction for literary journals, and covers architecture and travel topics for various publications. She also fixes up old houses and rents apartments to interesting people who feed her muse .She has work published or forthcoming in The Asheville Poetry Review, Chautauqua, The Fourth River, New Ohio Review, Nimrod International Journal, Pembroke Magazine, Quiddity, Salamander, Stone Canoe Journal, Water~Stone Review, and other journals.
Lori Desrosiers’ debut full-length book of poems, The Philosopher’s Daughter was published by Salmon Poetry in 2013. A chapbook, Inner Sky is from Glass Lyre Press. Sometimes I Hear the Clock Speak will be out from Salmon in 2016. She edits Naugatuck River Review, a journal of narrative poetry. She teaches Literature and Composition at Westfield State University and Holyoke Community College, and Poetry in the Interdisciplinary Studies program for the Lesley University M.F.A. graduate program.
This open mic takes place on the first Wednesday of each and every month at Caffè Lena (47 Phila Street, Saratoga Springs). This event has a $5.00 admission charge. Sign up at 7:00, 7:30 readings start.
