Daniel Nester

The Yes! Poetry & Performance Series returns to the Albany Center Gallery (39 Columbia Street, Albany) this Saturday, September 27, for the second reading of the season featuring Daniel Nester, Nate Brown, and Thea Brown.

Daniel Nester is the author of Shader: 99 Notes on Car Washes, Grief, Making Out in Church, and Other Unlearnable Subjects, which is due from 99: The Press in 2015. Other books include How to Be Inappropriate, God Save My Queen I and II, and The Incredible Sestina Anthology, which he edited. His writing has appeared in N+1, The New York Times, The Morning News, The Daily Beast, The Best American Poetry, The Best Creative Nonfiction, Third Rail: The Poetry of Rock and Roll, and Now Write! Nonfiction. He teaches writing at The College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY.

Nate Brown’s fiction has appeared in the Iowa Review, Mississippi Review, Five Chapters, the Carolina Quarterly, and elsewhere. He is the web editor of American Short Fiction. He lives in Baltimore, MD.

Thea Brown’s poems have most recently appeared or are forthcoming in Better, The Volta, Mississippi Review, inter|rupture, Sink Review, The Collagist, jubilat, and elsewhere, and she has a chapbook called We Are Fantastic from Petri Press. She lives in Baltimore, MD.

Albany Center Gallery is a community-based and community supported non-profit art space dedicated to exhibiting skillful contemporary art of the Mohawk Hudson region, and building a strong, knowledgeable audience for the visual arts.
