Miriam Axel-Lute has been writing and reading her poetry in Albany for many years and has featured at most of the great open mics and events in the area. Recently Miriam was one of the readers at the Pine Hills Review show at The Low Beat and was one of the open mic poets at the 2014 Albany Word Fest.

Here is Miriam reading as one of the featured poets at Albany Poets’ “Poetry at the UAG” series on Friday, January 23, 2009.

Miriam Axel-Lute is editor of Shelterforce, a national magazine on community development and neighborhood revitalization. Based in Albany, N.Y., she is a board member of the Community Loan Fund of the Capital Region and the Community Development Alliance of the Capital District, and an award-winning columnist for the alt-weekly Metroland.
