The great Caffe Lena Poetry Open Mic continues on Wednesday, July 2 in beautiful Saratoga Springs, “the summer place to be”. Host Carol Graser will be welcoming featured poets Jesse Muse and Elizabeth K. Gordon.

Jesse Muse is a Saratoga Springs native who began writing as a high school student at John Hopkins Center for Talented Youth Summer Program. He recently graduated from Ithaca College with a degree in Creative Writing with a concentration in poetry. While in Ithaca he was an active member of Spit That! a spoken word poetry club that spreads awareness of sociopolitical issues through poetry performances and readings.

Elizabeth K. Gordon lives in Cohoes and teaches writing in the on-line division of Northampton Community College. Gordon has performed at the National Poetry Slam, the International World Poetry Slam, and the Women of the World Poetry Slam (WOWPS) and the Urbana Slam at WOWPS. Her work has appeared in and has work at Salon, Moonshot, Viral Cat Press, Up the River, and IthacaLit and elsewhere. Love Cohoes (CDD Books), her first full collection of poetry, was published in May.

This open mic takes place on the first Wednesday of each and every month at Caffè Lena (47 Phila Street, Saratoga Springs). This event has a $5.00 admission charge. Sign up at 7:00, 7:30 readings start.
