Saturday is a big day with the annual Calling All Poets’ Poetry Marathon from 12:00PM – 11:00PM at the Howland Cultural Center with readings from Addison Goodson, Donald Lev, Barbara Adams, George Wallace, Guy Reed, Rebecca Schmejda, Adrianna Delgado, Jim Eve, Robert Milby, Christopher Wheeling, and many, many more of the great poets of the Hudson Valley. Saturday evening also marks the return of The Poetry Brothel to the Hudson Valley. This time the event is taking place at New World Home Cooking in Saugerties starting at 8:00PM.

The “Poetry Brothel,” a uniquely immersive poetry experience that takes poetry outside classrooms and places it in the lush atmosphere of a recreated turn-of-the-century Bordello, will make its return on Saturday, August 3rd at 8pm at New World Home Cooking. Following their successful debut at BSP Lounge in Kingston, the troupe returns with Live music, Entertainment, and Poetry with Attitude.

Poets scheduled to perform at this event include Brett Bevell, Phillip X Levine, Jaqueline Ahl, Eliz Cunningham, Maura McMahon O’Meara, Gary Siegel, Karen Holtslag, Brendan Merritt, and Francine Glasser. Read more…
