8:00pm – Northampton Poetry Open Mic

Northampton’s only weekly open mic poetry night offers some of the best, most creative voices in the county. Every Tuesday night at 8:00pm. Come down and listen. Come down and share your words. Academic or slam, spoken word or political: Your words are welcome. Every show features an open mic reading and a featured poet. Sometimes we all get rowdy and slam. All ages welcome. We charge a $2 cover at the door.

Anyone with a story – and we all have them – is invited to share it at the WXW Story Slam. Similar to the popular “Moth” radio show, the WXW Story Slam is a friendly, mildly competitive evening that has proven to be fun for audience and storytellers alike. Theme is “mistaken Identity.”

A poetry reading and open mic series that brings in some very talented writers and performers every year. Poets and writers who wish to participate in the open mic can read three short poems, two longer poems, or two pages of prose. This month’s featured poet is Bernadette Mayer.
