This Saturday, May 25, in Saugerties, three incredible Hudson Valley poets, Chris Wood, Pamela Twining, and Phillip Levine, will be the featured readers at the monthly poetry open mic / reading series at the Inquiring Minds Bookstore. This star-studded event is hosted by Laura Ludwig and Sean Willett.
Chris Wood is a life long resident of the Hudson valley region of New York where he participates in and creates poetry and music events. His on line and in print poetry magazine, “Heyday Magazine”, offers articles to inspire poets, and the work of poets can be found as well as art work, photography and drawings. He is a screenwriter, poet and musician, and author of a book of poetry, “The Learning Poetic Reflections On Love And Loss”.
Pamela Twining is the author of two books, this host has enjoyed reading “Utopians And Madmen”, which was sold at the HARMONY CAFE reading where Pamela was the featured poet. Pamela has featured in many venues.
Phillip Levine juggles being dad, Chronogram magazine poetry editor, Woodstock Poetry Society President, actor. His solo theatrical poetry performance piece, “approx. poet falls in love & can’t get up”, has run at numerous venues including Bowery Poetry club, Cornelia Street cafe, Woodstock Fringe Festival, Omega Institute, Universal Unitarian Church of Kingston, Nassau Community College, Mt. Saint Mary’s College,Caffe Lena, and elsewhere. His poem “Soon” appears in Firewheel Editions anthology An Introduction of the Prose Poem. Phillip hosts the Woodstock Poetry Society’s ongoing monthly reading series.
The co-host and creator of this show and the monthly reading is: Laura Lonshein Ludwig, author of 4 books of poetry, reviewed by the legendary comic actors, A1 Lewis and Irwin Corey,who appeared in Woody Allen films, Joe Franklin, talk show host, and Dr. Salemi, who teaches at NYU and the classics dept, at Hunter.
