When we started Albany Poets (then AlbanyPoets.org) back in 2001, Rob and I wanted the website to be a great resource for poets from all over the are to find out what is going on in the poetry community. Over the past few years, since we relaunched the website, the Albany Poets team has tried to come up with ways to better display and promote all of the events, open mics, and readings in the area. With that in mind we are very happy to announce the brand new events calendar system here on AlbanyPoets.com.
We have listings, a new calendar, and more detailed information on the goings-on here in our poetry community in upstate New York and Western Massachusetts.
On this new system, you can drill down to find exactly what you want (poetry open mic, music open mic, slam, workshops, storytelling) and where you want to go (Albany, Saratoga, Hudson Valley, Western Mass).
This is by far the biggest upgrade to our events calendar and we invite you to check it out and help us add to it. If you have an event that you want included, please send an email to albanypoets+events@gmail.com with the date and details.
