On Sunday, October 28 poets will be gathering at the Old Songs Community Center (37 South Main Street, Voorheesville) for the next edition of the Sunday Four Open Mic series. This month the featured poet is Lori Desrosiers, who maintains the Poetry News website, a weekly newsletter/magazine which chronicles the poetry events in the Pioneer Valley and Western MA as well as the larger Springfield/Worcester/Hartford area.
Here is the announcement from hosts Edie Abrams, Mike Burke, and Dennis Sullivan:
Come join us on SUNDAY Oct 28th to hear featured poet Lori Desrosiers present work from her forthcoming book THE PHILOSOPHER’S DAUGHTER.
Lori is an award-winning poet who has published widely and continues to serve as Editor and Publisher of the well-regarded Naugatuck River Review.
We start at 3 PM @ OLD SONGS where we always are. But here is a URL for directions just in case: http://www.oldsongs.org/festival/directions.htm
Bring your best work to read!! Three short, two very medium, poems. We try to hold to that.
Afterwards, come by the POETS’ CORNER at Smith’s Tavern to pour a libation or two. Dan Wilcox is the Poet of the Month at the PC with “IF PEACE BROKE OUT TOMORROW . . .”
