Ken is a great poet and storyteller and it was quite a treat to have him in the area for a couple of days over the summer. We are very glad that Dan Wilcox was able to bring him into town after meeting him in Oklahoma last year. Here is a little bit more about the man from his website.
In addition to an active scholarly life in eco-criticism, western regionalism and ethnic literature, Ken Hada’s poetry appears in numerous regional journals and is currently published in three volumes: Spare Parts (winner of The Wrangler from the National Western Heritage Museum, and featured four times on Garrison Keillor’s The Writer’s Almanac), The Way of the Wind and the recently released River White: A Confluence of Brush & Quill.
Ken received his PhD from the University of Texas – Arlington and is a professor in the Department of English & Languages atEast Central University in Ada, Oklahoma. Ken serves as area chair for Literature, Ecocriticism and the Environment for the annual Southwest/Texas Popular Culture Association. When not writing, Ken spends time with a flyrod in hand kayaking or wading rivers and creeks, climbing small mountains, watching the campfire and listening to good music.
