Yes! Featuring Colie Collen, Douglas Rothschild, and Michael Peters

Colie Collen

Matthew Klane and company will be kicking off the new season of the Yes! Reading with featured readers Colie Collen, Douglas Rothschild, and Michael Peters on Friday, August 31 at the Social Justice Center (33 Central Ave., Albany) starting at 8:00PM. This is one of the great poetry / spoken word series in the area. The good folks at Yes! always put together a great show and this one looks no different. Be on the lookout for more details on the upcoming season of readings.

Colie Collen is a farmer, freshly minted, and is looking forward to starting her own cut flower farm in 2013. Keep your eye on www.flowerscout.blogspot.com for details-to-come. In the meantime, she’s busy with hands full of vegetables and brains full of fluff, pasting everything she can to paper when she finds the time.

Douglas Rothschild’s life has been one long miasma of failure, disappointment, coffee & overarching desire. Though he has not yet accomplished anything of note, Mr. Rothschild intends to continue on for some time yet. Some of this life, such as it is, has been chronicled in Bill Luoma’s WORKS & DAYS & Jennifer Moxley’s THE MIDDLE ROOM.

Michael Peters is the author of the sound-imaging poem Vaast Bin (Calamari Press) and other assorted language art and sound works. Text and digital-based works appear in various print and electronic journals such as Bright Pink Mosquito, unarmed, SleepingFish, Word for/Word, BathHouse Hypermedia Journal, Sous Rature, and Hyperrhiz: New Media Cultures. New work is forthcoming in Polis, PEEP/SHOW, and Drunken Boat. Early text-based works appeared in LUNGFULL!, Rhino, and Spinning Jenny. Peters cut his teeth in the rock group Poem Rocket, and continues to explore sound-imaging compositions via performances, installations, films, and in various improvisational collaborations.
