The 2012 Word Fest is getting bigger, better, and more exciting as we get closer to the big event in April. This week Matthew Klane and the good folks over at the Yes, Reading! series released the sign up for the Yes! Word Fest Communal Reading Event that will be taking place on Wednesday, April 18 at the Social Justice Center.
Yes!, in conjunction with Word Fest, invites YOU to take part in this communal reading event.
This will NOT be a showcase for anyone’s individual work. Rather, it will be an opportunity for poets from various Albany poetry communities to READ TOGETHER in the SAME SPACE.
Specific parameters for the event are still being constructed. In the meanwhile, we’re looking for brave volunteers who are up for taking part in a reading experiment!
30 slots. Open sign-up. IF YOU’D LIKE TO PARTICIPATE, THEN SAY SO IN THE COMMENT FIELD. FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE.
This event is part of the 2012 Albany Word Fest – a full week of poetry and spoken word. If you can’t make it to this, hopefully you can make it to one of the other events that will be going on April 15-21.
As of this writing, there are still a few spots left on the list to participate. Local poets already signed up include Marcus Anderson, Mojavi, Jill Crammond, Mary Panza, Poetyc Visionz, Julie Lomoe, Bob Sharkey, Thom Francis, Julianna Spallholz, Carol Graser, Maureen Jolie Anderson, Colin Halloran, Terry Bat-Sonja, A.C. Everson, and Alan Catlin.
And if that is not enough poetry for you, Don Levy has announced that he will be hosting the Live From The Living Room event featuring Java Poets Collective members Suzanne Meyers, Amy White, and Cecele Kraus.
I’d love to be part of this reading.
Jan – I just send a message to Matthew Klane to get you on the list via Facebook. This is going to be a great Word Fest week!
