www.caffelena.org 583-0022Marilyn Sandberg has written essays and poetry as a Fellow in the Pennsylvania Writing Project. and been a long term teacher of creative writing. She is currently writing a mystery novel as well as working on a series of memoir poems. Marilyn lives in Center City Philadelphia for half the year and in the Adirondacks for the other half.
Kathleen McCoy’s poetry has been published locally in Expressions and The Post-Star as well as in literary journals and the internet. She earned her B.A. summa cum laude with honors in creative writing from Georgetown College; she was then named a Creative Writing Fellow at the University of Missouri-Columbia where she earned an M.A. and Ph.D. and wrote her first poetry collection, Losing the Rhythm for Holding the Notes. Her poetry has been featured in readings in Missouri and New York. An associate professor at Adirondack Community College, she teaches composition, women’s literature, and creative writing. She has presented papers and led workshops on creative writing, assessment in composition, the healing power of writing, and teaching creativity, as well as on a range of modern and contemporary women writers, including Virginia Woolf, Adrienne Rich, Margaret Atwood, Marge Piercy, and others. She lives in Queensbury with her husband and daughter. Her new chapbook is Night-Blooming Cereus and other poems, and she edited the anthology Ekphrasis: Art into Words.
