Carol Graser

Carol Graser

Carol Graser has, as many of the poets on the Albany Poets website, been one of the driving forces of poetry in the area for many years. She hosts one of the longest running poetry open mics in upstate New York at Caffe Lena in Saratoga Springs. In recent years she has brought some big-name spoken word artists like Taylor Mali to the historic venue.

Carol Graser lives in the Adirondacks and is the author of The Wild Twist of Their Stems, Foothills Publishing, 2007. She hosts a monthly poetry reading series at Saratoga’s legendary Caffè Lena the first Wednesday of every month and has performed her work at various events and venues around New York. She runs poetry workshops for teens and at-risk youth.

We are thrilled to have Carol as an integral part of the upstate poetry and spoken word community and to have more of her own poetry on the site. The new additions are Poetry Leaves the Water, N Plus 7 or so Prayer, and Laid Off Summer
