Random Writing in Rosendale

Cheryl A. Rice‘s “RANDOM WRITING: For New & Used Poets” workshop series is coming to Century House Historical Society, Rosendale, NY on Saturday, September 17, 2022, from 10:00 am to 12 Noon. The cost is only $50 Per Person and proceeds benefit CHHS.

RANDOM WRITING is a four-element workshop:

  • Inspiration
  • Word Play
  • Text Play
  • Peer Response

Whether you’ve been writing your whole life or would like to dip your toes into the poetic pool for the very first time, there is something for everyone. Sessions are styled around free verse and the rhythms of the human voice.

Long Islander by birth, Cheryl A. Rice has called New York’s Hudson Valley home for over 40 years. Rice has been active in Calling All Poets, the Poetry Society of Woodstock, and Albany Poets (now Hudson Valley Writers Guild).  A frequent feature at venues from Manhattan to Albany, she is founder/host of the now-defunct Sylvia Plath Bake-Off, from 1993 to 2002. Publications include Love’s Compass (Kung Fu Treachery Press), Until The Words Came (Post Traumatic Press), and Moses Parts the Tulips (APD Press). Rice took First Prize in the 2016 Stephen A. DiBiase Poetry Prize.
