Pen to Pandemic: A Short Story Competition in the Time of COVID-19

Rensselaer County will be having blind judging of the submissions with a prestigious panel:
  • Bobbie Reno-Author and Town Historian of East Greenbush.
  • Kathy Sheehan-Historian and Educator at the Hart Cluett Museum
  • Frankie Y. Bailey, Author and Professor at the School of Criminal Justice at SUNY Albany.
This contest is open to anyone in Rensselaer County, 18 years and older. Stories must be a work of fiction set in Rensselaer County during the COVID-19 pandemic. Genre is open. Word count must be between 1500-2000 words.
Registration to participate will open on January 15th on our website and emailed submissions are due on March 15th. Our blind judging panel will select 2 winning entries and the winning submissions will be published and performed in a public reading.
The event is sponsored by East Greenbush Community Library, the Town of East Greenbush, and the Hart Cluett Museum of Troy.
