Caffè Lena to present a poetry reading by Kathleen McCoy January 4

On Wednesday, January 4, Caffè Lena will present a poetry reading by Kathleen McCoy. An open reading will follow. Doors open for sign-ups at 7 p.m., and the readings will start at 7:30. The host for the event will be Carol Graser, and the cost is $5. Caffè Lena is located at 47 Phila St., Saratoga Springs (583-0022, www.caffelena.org).

Kathleen McCoy (aka P. Kathleen McCoy) was born in Rio Grande, Ohio, minutes after her sister. She graduated from Georgetown College and then worked her way through graduate school with a bevy of jobs, completing her doctorate in modern literature and poetry at the University of Missouri-Columbia. After a stint as research analyst/writer in New York City, she began teaching for SUNY Adirondack, where she now chairs the English Division and teaches creative writing. Her debut poetry collection, Green and Burning, was released in 2016 from WordTech. She lives in upstate New York with her husband, daughter and the cats who own them.
