The great Caffe Lena Poetry Open Mic series continues this Wednesday, November 6, at the beautiful and historic Caffe Lena in Saratoga Springs. Host Carol Graser will be welcoming featured poets Barbara Kaiser and David Messineo.

Barbara Kaiser considers herself to be an outsider poet since she has had no formal training in poetry, she just writes poems. She has belonged to a poetry group in the area for about 20 years. She has written a one-woman show, “Locked in the Ladies’ Room” which she performed at the Arts Center in Troy and at Cafe LaMaMa in NYC. She is the host of “The Great American Song Book” heard on WVCR, 88.3 The Saint on Sunday evenings from 9-11 p.m.

David Messineo, poet, performance artist, poetry editor, and publisher, has been active in the New Jersey poetry scene across five decades. He is founder and editor of Sensations Magazine. His work has appeared in national magazines on four continents, and in seven books (First Impressions, Suburban Gothic, A Taste of Italy, A Taste of Brazil, Restoration, Formal, and Historiopticon). He has hosted over 700 poetry events in 48 states across 24 years.
