It’s that time a year again, we are back at Valentine’s on Tuesday, October 15 for the 2nd Annual Inappropriate Slam!
Last year we gathered together to showcase the most cringe-worthy, “not ready for prime time” poetry and spoken word. We had such a good time and people are still talking about it, so we are doing it again at NGS #56. Also, anyone who gets on stage and takes part in one the funniest and most anticipated evenings of the year will be added to the points board as we get closer to our first semi-final coming up in November.
There are no limits or boundaries, except that it has to be your own writing and, of course, inappropriate.
Remember, if Algorhytm starts a sentence with “Girrrlllllll…”, you know you are being set up for an inappropriate poem.
This third season is off to a great start so far with a great mix of new and “veteran” poets on the leader board. Who will step up and wrestle the first place spot away from Poetyc Visionz, who has been on top all season so far?
The road to NPS 2014 has begun and there is still time to get on board the #TeamNittyGritty Express.
Albany Poets, Urban Guerilla Theatre, and The Frequency North Reading Series have brought slam back to Albany with the Nitty Gritty Slam.
NGS takes place at Valentine’s (17 New Scotland Ave.) on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday’s of each month.
If you’re not into slam, but want to get on stage and share your work, we have an open mic before the slam.
Sign up begins at 7:00pm, open mic starts at 7:30, and then Thom Francis starts the slam at 8:00pm.
Admission is $5.00 ($3.00 with student ID). This is an 18+ show.
