Tomorrow night, Wednesday, October 2, at the beautiful and historic Caffe Lena in Saratoga Springs, Carol Graser will be hosting the October edition of the long-running Caffe Lena Poetry Open Mic with featured poets Andy Fogle and Kristen Day.

Kristen Day is a poet and artist living in the Capital Region of New York. She enjoys a wide range of creative endeavors, including painting, drawing, photography, jewelry-making, poetry and singing. Her artwork has been displayed in a number of galleries, including the Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial Gallery in the Empire State Plaza. Her poetry has been published in number of printed and online magazines, including Knock and albanypoets.com.

Andy Fogle has published five chapbooks of poetry, most recently The Last Apprenticeship (White Knuckle), as well as various nonfiction essays about literature, education, and baseball in The Writer’s Chronicle, English Journal, Gargoyle, Cobalt, and Popmatters. He grew up in Virginia Beach, and then spent 13 years in the DC area, studying, slamming, playing music, and teaching. He now lives in upstate NY, teaching high school and working on a PhD in Education.

This open mic takes place on the first Wednesday of each and every month at Caffè Lena (47 Phila Street, Saratoga Springs). This event has a $5.00 admission charge. Sign up at 7:00, 7:30 readings start.
