We have another busy week of poetry here in the area next week. Tuesday is Nitty Gritty Slam #37 and then we travel up to Saratoga Springs for the monthly Caffe Lena Poetry Open Mic featuring Matthew Klane and Joe Krausman.

This open mic, hosted by Carol Graser, takes place on the first Wednesday of each and every month at Caffè Lena (47 Phila Street, Saratoga Springs). This event has a $5.00 admission charge. Sign up at 7:00, 7:30 readings start.

Joseph Krausman is a writer, poet, theater director, and former legislative analyst with the New York State Assembly. He was the MCA Fellow in Playwriting at Smith College. His plays have been staged in Northampton, Amherst, Iowa, Holyoke, Scotland and New York City. Joe also received a Massachusetts Fiction Writing Fellowship for the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, where he obtained an MFA in Fiction Writing. He has participated in a number of poetry readings and has published plays, short stories, non-fiction and poetry.

Matthew Klane is co-editor at Flim Forum Press. His chapbooks include Sorrow Songs (2007), Friend Delighting the Eloquent (2007), and The-Associated Press (2006). Forthcoming publications include Being Che (Stockport Flats 2013) and My (Fence eBooks 2014). He currently lives and writes in Albany, where he co-curates the Yes! Poetry & Performance Series. Yes! brings innovative local and national writers into conversation with experimental film, dance, music and art in the belief that mingling enriches these forms.
