Carol Graser and Mary Kathryn Jablonski Feature at C.R.E.A.T.E.

Schenectady’s 2nd Wednesday Poetry Series will feature Carol Graser and Mary Kathryn Jablonski on Wednesday, May 8 at C.R.E.A.T.E. Community Studios, 137 State Street.  In celebration of Mother’s Day, the poets will present work that explores themes Mothers and Children. Feel free to join in at the open mic with poetry or flash prose on these topics or any work you choose.

Carol Graser hosts a monthly poetry series at Saratoga Spring’s legendary Caffe Lena on the first Wednesday of every month and has performed her work at various events and venues around NYS. Her work has been published in many literary journals, recently in Devilfish Review, Punch Drunk Press, Trailer Park Quarterly and Minute Magazine. She is the author of the poetry collection, The Wild Twist of Their Stems (Foothills Publishing 2007).

Mary Kathryn Jablonski is author of Sugar Maker Moon from Dos Madres Press (2019). Her poems and collaborative video/poems have appeared in numerous literary journals, exhibitions and film festivals in the US, UK, IRE and Germany.

 

Located on lower State Street in Schenectady, C.R.E.A.T.E. Community Studios is the new venue for the 2nd Wednesday Open Mic series that used to meet at Arthur’s Market. There’s a bus stop out front and plentiful parking along State Street and Liberty Street, plus a free parking lot behind the building.

 

Doors open for the open mic signups at 7pm (no earlier, please, because private meetings may be in session). Readings begin at 7:30. Admission is free; coffee and tea are available for a donation.
