On Wednesday, February 1, Caffè Lena will present poetry readings by Carol H Jewell and Allison Paster-Torres.   An open reading will follow. Doors open for sign-ups at 7 p.m., and the readings will start at 7:30. The host for the event will be Carol Graser, and the cost is $5. Caffè Lena is located at 47 Phila Street, Saratoga Springs; (518) 583-0022; www.caffelena.org.

Allison Paster-Torres was raised by a pack of wild libraries. She knows how to spell at least 10 words in the English language and can easily be talked into doing almost anything if you tell her it will be an adventure, even if this is obviously a lie. She holds an MFA in creative writing and has appeared recently in Memoryhouse Magazine, Rat’s Ass Review and Glass Journal.

Carol Jewell is a poet, teacher, musician, librarian, wife, mother and grandmother. She has an AB in Russian Language and Literature and has three Masters degrees, in English, Library Science. She just finished her MFS in creative writing from the College of Saint Rose.
